Recipe: Sea Salt & Honey Roasted Almonds

For quick healthy snacks I often grab a handful of almonds. Today I was craving something a lil extra sweet & salty, so I decided to make my own Honey Roasted Almonds. Yum..... They hit the spot and kept me on track with my Clean Lifestyle Program. Bonus!

Sea Salt & Honey Roasted Almonds are quick and easy to make and have have 3 simple ingredients with a host of health benefits:

  • Raw Almonds. Almonds are packed with protein as well as vitamins, minerals and fiber. They have a positive impact on things like cholesterol, heart disease & cancer risk, not to mention they help you feel satiated which curbs appetite & helps weight-loss!
  • Raw Honey. Raw Honey is a natural antimicrobial and antioxidant and contains contains 27 minerals, 22 amino acids and 5,000 live enzymes. It keeps you healthy by boosting your immune system and helping to metabolize cholesterol and fatty acid preventing obesity. Honey has a healthy Glycemic Index (GI), meaning that its sugars can be gradually absorbed into the bloodstream to result in better digestion. I prefer raw honey because it has not been heated and filtered, which robs it of natural nutrients.
  • Pink Himalayan Sea Salt This type of salt is said to be the "purest salt on earth" and is rich in trace minerals that can be easily metabolized by the body, unlike regular table salt. These minerals can help balance your PH, regulate water content, remove toxins, help absorb nutrients, prevent muscle cramping, create balance and more.

Recipe Directions:

Pre-Heat Oven to 350°

In a glass bowl, Mix 1 Tbsp of Raw Honey with 130 raw almonds until evenly covered. (If your honey is solid like mine, warm it up a little first)

Spread the Honey Glazed Almonds out onto a baking sheet covered with tin foil.

Grind a bit of Pink Himalayan Sea Salt over the mixture to taste.

Place in the oven for about 10 minutes. Then remove from heat let cool.

Makes 10 - 86 Cal Servings of 13 Almonds (equal to a small handful)
